The Engineering and Floodplain Administration Section provides engineering review services for the Sumner County Regional Planning Commission, Building Codes, Highway Department and other County departments. The Engineering section reviews subdivision and site development plans submitted for approval by the Planning Commission for compliance with applicable regulations, with a particular emphasis placed on Stormwater quality and quantity management. All requests for development within a designated FEMA flood zone are coordinated through this section. All such applications are reviewed in order to ensure compliance with all applicable FEMA requirements in order to ensure County participation in the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP). The Engineering Section also administers an inspection and construction inspection program with developers throughout the development process, ensuring that construction adheres to approved plans.
